I was at the Sydney fish Market and wanted to buy some good fish and found 'Yellowtail Kingfish' which is called 'Neyy(Fat) Meen(Fish)' in my mother tongue (Malayalam). Due to my passion for cooking authentic dishes, this time I tried my own version of 'Fish Molly'. Here is the recipe and the photo of the dish that turned out.
Fish molly (Quick & Easy one)
King Fish(or fish of similar type)-1/2 kilo
Tomato-1
Onion cut lenghthwise-1
Green chilli-2 or to taste
Red chilli powder-1 tsp or to taste
Ginger- 1/2 inch
Turmeric-1/4 tsp
Methi(Fenugreek) powder or paste-1/2 tsp
Methi(Fenugreek) seeds-1/4 tsp
Coconut milk-1 cup(thick)
Salt to Taste
Curry leaves - 5-6 leaves
Olive/Coconut Oil- 2 to 3 tablespoon or as required
Instructions : Clean the fish and cut into 1 inch pieces(from fillet). Mix the fish with salt,turmeric,chilli powder and keep aside. Take a pan, add the spiced fish, Green chilli, Curry leaves, ginger, Methi seeds, Methi paste or powder in 2 cups of water in low heat and cook for 15-20 minutes until fully cooked.
Take another pan, add oil and fry onions till soft(~3 min). Mix the above mixture with the onions and add 1 cup of water and tomatoes(sliced) and cook until it comes to a boil. Add coconut milk and it will be ready to serve.
